Class Objective – The student will learn to:

  1. Understand the architecture and operation of the Mercedes-Benz DAS3 vehicle security system.
  2. Identify the functions of the Key, Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS), Electronic Steering Lock (ESL), Motor Electronics (ME), Intelligent Shift Module (ISM), and 7G-Tronic Conductor Plate.
  3. Understand how DAS3 system components communicate during the drive authorization process.
  4. Read and interpret key data required for Mercedes key generation.
  5. Generate and program DAS3 keys using industry-standard locksmith tools.
  6. Diagnose common DAS3 system failures and communication issues.
  7. Perform component replacement and synchronization procedures for supported DAS3 modules.
  8. Apply industry best practices while avoiding common programming and diagnostic mistakes.

Course Description

This intensive one-day course provides locksmiths with a practical introduction to Mercedes-Benz DAS3 vehicle security systems. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the DAS3 platform, including the relationship between major security components and the procedures used for key generation, programming, diagnostics, and component replacement.

Through instructor demonstrations and real-world examples, participants will learn how the Key, EIS, ESL, ME, ISM, and 7G-Tronic conductor plate interact within the vehicle’s security network. The course emphasizes practical workflows, troubleshooting techniques, and programming procedures commonly encountered by today’s automotive locksmith.
